Symphony Integrations

ABSTRACT
A set of integrations that integrate deeply with Symphony:

  • GitHub

  • JIRA

  • Zapier

  • Salesforce

  • Universal Webhook Integration (UWI)

  • Trello

PROPOSAL
To implement a series of integrations that integrates securely with the Agent allowing pods that have cloud and on-prem based Agents and KeyManagers to link with the aforementioned 3rd party services.

These will serve as a highly documented set of examples to allow both ourselves and any other members of the open-source community expand on existing integrations, or build similar integrations with any 3rd party services that send webhooks.

BACKGROUND
Symphony is a platform that enables productivity at work. A key part of enabling productivity is integrating deeply with 3rd party services to avoid context-switching for users therefore allowing a more efficient workflow.

RATIONALE
These integrations use webhooks that 3rd party services send to route messages into Symphony. This allows users to streamline their notification flow and get notified of what they consider important messages within Symphony instead of email. This will then allow users to immediately take action with them, or create conversations about these objects.

INITIAL GOALS

  • 6 integrations, documented and published in a public repo

  • These integrations are fully functional and usable

  • Others can use these integrations as a template for building similar integrations with services that post webhooks
